Thursday night "Picnic & Pick-Up Paddle for the Rivers"

Bring your own boat or use one of ours, June 16, June 30, July 21, August 4 and August 18

Bring a picnic, your own kayak or paddle-able boat, or use one of our tandem or solo kayaks for a sociable evening paddle on the West River. It's free, but you need to make a reservation in advance. A suggested $10 donation would go a long way toward the Riverkeeper's efforts to keep these rivers swimmable, fishable, crabable and kayakable, but even if you don't want to dip into your wallet, we'd still like you to dip a paddle in the river.

The West & Rhode Riverkeeper, in partnership with Discovery Village, will offer free kayaking on Thursday, June 16, June 30, July 21, August 4 and August 18. We will begin at 6 p.m. and wrap it up 30 minutes before sunset. Picnicing is welcome, as long as we vacate the campus by sunset.

Kayaks, paddles, and life vests will be provided. Both single and tandem kayaks are available. Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult. To reserve your spot, email Jeff at  or call 410-867-7171.

In the event of inclement weather, kayaking will be canceled and that news will be posted on our website.
